Dr. Dooley earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of Alabama at Birmingham before completing his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine.
He went on to an internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, where he served as chief resident and received the Carl L. Nelson Leadership Award. Dr. Dooley then completed dual fellowships in orthopaedic sports medicine and arthroscopy at Mississippi Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in Jackson and the Tulane Institute of Sports Medicine in New Orleans. He is board-certified in both orthopaedic surgery and orthopaedic sports medicine, and he maintains active membership in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
His clinical focus includes arthroscopic and open treatment of shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee injuries; comprehensive care for sports-related injuries; and joint-replacement surgery for arthritis of the knee, hip, and shoulder.
Away from the operating room, Dr. Dooley enjoys snow skiing, fitness activities, football, hunting, and outdoor recreation with his wife, Melissa, and their three children—Jackson, William, and Matthew.
