The shoulder is classified as a ball and socket joint. It is the most mobile joint in the body, and is also one of the most unstable. The most common surgical procedures performed by our surgeons include repairs to torn muscles and tendons, removal of bone spurs, rotator cuff repair, and shoulder replacement. Arthropscopy is a procedure used to “look” inside the shoulder joint to locate and correct problems. Other surgery techniques include tightening ligaments and repair of torn capsular attachments and prosthetic shoulder replacement. Many of our doctors have specialized training in shoulder surgery and are offering some of the most innovative shoulder treatments in the area.
