Dr. Sheils completed an associate’s degree at Marion Military Institute and his undergraduate degree at The University of South Alabama. He received his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1998.

Dr. Sheils completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Alabama School of Medicine where he was recognized as the outstanding orthopedic resident in his class of colleagues.
Orthopaedic Interests
In addition to general orthopedics, he has a specialty interest in joint replacement surgery. He completed a fellowship in joint replacement surgery at the Anderson Orthopaedic Clinic in Arlington, Virginia.
Personal
Dr. Sheils and his wife, Scarlett, have two sons. They reside in Opelika.
